CSP Holds IT Days

With the aim of giving the IT students an avenue to Do More and to Learn More, The Computer Studies Program held the annual IT Day Celebration spearheaded by Mr. Roderick Ferros - Program Chairperson, CSP Officers and the Organizers from the Evening 4th year class. The two-day event was held last February 22, 2013 at HED Computer Laboratories Rm. 450 and 451 and February 23, 2013 at Sto. Cristo del Tesoro Auditorium and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Conference Room. The event was divided into four parts - The Skills Competition, Mr. & Ms. IT 2013, IT Congress and the Team Building Activity which was held at Pansol, laguna.

Simultaneous computer competitions were participated in by the students for the skills Competitions such as: Programming - Visual Basic and C++, Keyboarding, Flash Animation Making and PC Assembly. Beauties and brains showed up in the first ever Mr. and Ms. IT judged by Ms. Clarissa San Antonio, Mr. Jhet Martinez and Mr. Jefferson Dalisay. Each year level participated with their own representatives. participants showed their talents through sing and dance presentation, proved their knowledge in the question and answer portion and displayed their creativity by ramping on stage with their techy and formal attires. The contestants were serenaded by SIC sessionistas and each year level presented its group presentation during the event.

Also, as part of updating and broadening student's knowledge in the industry sector and part of the promotional strategy of the program, the IT students invited fourth year high school students from different schools to the IT Congress with its theme "Transpiring Student's Knowledge Through Secured Social Networking and Gaming Developments". Kimberly Mae Papna, President of the Program gave the words of welcome to the attendees. Guest speakers were Mr. Jefferson Dalisay, Documentation Consultant, who talked on the topic "Proper Online Management" and Mr. Ian Jaycarlo Sapida, Application Consultant discussed "Web Developments". The congress ended with a closing remaks given by Mr. Roderick Ferros.

The last part of the IT Days celebration was the team building wherein students were divided into four groups and participated in every activity facilitated by Ms. Clarissa San Antonio. Other IT faculty members, Ms. Peejay Cunanan, Mr. Joel Cruz, and Mr. Mark Manaog also joined in the said activity. Election of officers for the school year 2013-2014 was also conducted. The activities gave students the chance to bond, interact, rest and enjoy.
